Schlesinger Companies
is formed.

Roseville Plaza and
Southfield Plaza
600,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
Converted two department stores into power centers. Among the first shopping centers to have a strong collection of big boxes, including Burlington Coat Factory, Service Merchandise and Marshall’s.  First redevelopment of a pre-existing store into value retail in the U.S.
 

1985
Mall of the Americas
Changed name from Midway Mall to Mall of the Americas.
Expanded to 700,000 sq. ft. from 500,000 sq. ft.
Re-tenanted. Re-marketed to the Hispanic market.  First value-oriented mall in the U.S.  First Hispanic-oriented mall to be sold to an institutional investor in the U.S.
 

1989
Westview Mall
Redeveloped from a regional mall to a value-oriented center – first in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
 

1994
Talisman Companies, L.L.C.
is formed.

Roswell Center
Conversion of a small mall to a strip center.
Renovated and expanded. Re-tenanted.
Added a 75,000 sq. ft. family entertainment center.

Windsor Square
Renovated and expanded. Became the largest power strip in Tennessee.
 

1995
Towson Place
Name change.
Converted from a 540,000 sq. ft. enclosed shopping mall to a 680,000 sq. ft. power strip center. Generally viewed as the most successful conversion in the Baltimore market.
 

1997
Brookdale Center
Remodeled and expanded the oldest of the four-anchor malls in the U.S. (built in 1962).
Expanded to add Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, an eight-unit food court and more.
Re-marketed to attract a strong local base back to the center.
 

2000
Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas
Re-marketed/repositioned the center to the tourist traffic as well as the local market with a bold, new advertising campaign that stresses value.  Increased tour groups over 70% from previous year.  Winner of the 2002 SASI Award.  Re-tenanted to include a mix of upscale stores and national brands.
 

2002
Southland Mall
Talisman, in conjunction with Schottenstein Realty created T/S Development which purchases the Southland Mall in Miami, Florida. The super regional, 1,030,000 sq. ft. mall is at the dynamic intersection of U.S. 1 and the Florida Turnpike. Southland Mall is in the heart of the tremendously expanding South Miami-Dade County trade areas. New tenants include DSW, Ultra, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Regal Theatres and Bally’s. New specialty tenants include Children's PLace, Charlotte Russe, plus well known restaurants such as Johnny Rockets. Mercedes Benz is located on the rear back outlet of Southland Mall.
 

2004
Towson Place is sold to Kimco Realty Corporation
The property was originally purchased in April 1995 for $12 million dollars from Equitable Insurance Company.  In February of 2004, the property was sold for $88 million dollars to Kimco Realty Corporation.

Roswell Town Center
The property was sold to Branch and Associates for $27 million.
Purchased for $9 million.
 

Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas
Goldman Sachs purchases a 49% interest in the center.

Miracle Center
Talisman purchases a 250,000 sq. ft. defunct mall in the heart of Coral Gables, Florida.  The project is now under redevelopment as a “stacked big box” mall.  Tenants include Marshalls, Bed, Bath & Beyond, PetSmart, DSW, Bally’s, Office Max, Michaels and Ultra along with an exciting group of national restaurants and specialty retailers.  The center will anchor the new retail on Miracle Mile and Coral Way.
 

2005
Windsor Square
Windsor Square is sold to private investors in April of 2005.

Brookdale Center
Brookdale Center is sold to Brooks Mall Properties in July of 2005.
 

Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls
Talisman Companies purchases Prime Outlets of Niagara Falls in November 2005. The center has been renamed Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. The outlet center is located 25 minutes north of Buffalo and 90 minutes south of Toronto on US Route 62 off of Interstate I 190. This 530,000 sq. ft. outlet center features 150 stores including Polo Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Anne Klein, Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue, Tommy Hilfiger, Jones New York and Coach. Renovations of the exterior is to be completed by Holiday 2006 and interior renovations will be completed in SPring 2007.
 

2006
Talisman Companies and AWE Enterprises Join Forces
James A. Schlesinger, founder and CEO of Florida-based Talisman Companies, LLC , appoints Arthur H. Weiner to the post President of Talisman Companies, LLC. Mr. Weiner will continue as the CEO of Arthur Weiner Enterprises, Inc.(AWE), an independent global retail consulting firm specializing in shopping center development and tenant representation, which he founded in 1984. Mr. Schlesinger will continue as CEO of the Talisman Companies and will bring his knowledge in real estate development.

Southland Mallis sold to Cutler Southland, LLC/Diversified InvestXX, LLC.
